News Briefvia The A.V. Club
David Greaves’ Once Upon a Time In Harlem is a time capsule documentary, built out of footage nearly 50 years old and rarely seen before. His father, pioneering independent filmmaker William Greaves, began the project decades ago but never finished it before his death in 2014. Only recently did his son and few collaborators digitize the treasure trove of footage and edit together a tale of two eras.
